How to make iphone 4 faster?

I had bought my iphone 4 last year and it was working very good. But from the time these software have been updated my iphne has become very slow and hangs alot of times. At times i have to press the homw button two to three times for it to work. I've got got a few games on my fone and no other useless application except for facebook whatsapp skype and viber.i've got about 3000 photos and 15 videos
And the camera quality also doesn't work so good. The slowness is making me mad
What should i do? Should i take it for the mobile shop to renew the software? Like reset all the settings or what? I don't want my pictures to go away. Please help me

You can't make it faster, iphones are pathetically weak after a year or so thanks to Apple only clocking the Iphone 4 at less than a 1GHZ and that is a joke for even when it first came out. Your best bet is to upgrade to the Iphone 5S or wait until the iphone 6 comes out as the single core CPU of the iphone 4 is very weak today, it can't even handle Siri, let alone the latest update which was a mistake to do so in the first place. Apple does this so that you are forced to buy a new iphone every year because it's too weak after 1 year or so for the least apps and such to run smoothly. My old Galaxy Note 2 still hangs with the best and will do so because of being a Quad Core CPU and having 2 GB of RAM vs the iphone 4's pathetic 512mb of RAM.

Bottom line, your iphone 4 is outdated and very weak today with it's pathetic 1GHZ single core CPU and 512MB of RAM when my ancient Galaxy S2 has 2GB of RAM and a 1.8GHZ Dual Core that outperformed it and still handles the latest version of Android good(4.4.2 vs the 2.3 it used when it first came out).

This is called Planned Obsolescence and it should be illegal, for example, lightbulbs built in the 1920's could last for a hundred years or more, but then the lobby's that wanted profits made them illegal and we have the garbage ones that only last for a few years at most. The same applies to many industries like TV's when older CRT tube TVs could last decades and not the modern LCD and Plasma TV's only last a decade the most if you are lucky.

Only use it on a jet plane

The biggest mistake people make is not closing apps when done. Pressing the home button doesn't close them, you have to double tap and slide them up (ios 7) to close, they take memory in the background so close them out when not using. I would also unload all your photos to the computer, no reason to keep all those on the phone and consuming all your space.

If your contract is up though, no reason for anyone not to be on 4S when its free on a 2 year contract, trade in the 4 and get $ back and move up to 4S at least when your contract is up.
