How to restore iPhone 4 without updating firmware?
I'm going to sell my iPhone 4 and I want to erase all the data on it but i don't want to update the iPhone as its jailbroken and if I update it, it won't be jailbroken anymore.
If I do the erase all content and settings, will I be forced to update the iPhone or anything? I just want the iPhone to be brand new like when I had it over but still have it jailbroken.
Hold shift when clicking the Restore button to restore to a different firmware.
There's no way to take off your information if the phone is jailbroken unless you do it yourself manually.
Another option would be to reset the phone and then jailbreak it again. If the phone is for AT&T, I would suggest selling it to http://phonedumper.com, these guys offer the best prices for buying used phones and sometimes even pay out higher than their original quote.
They do not care if the phone is jailbroken or not so that way you would be able to wipe all of your info. Hope this helps!
