How to restore iPhone 5 without updating?
Hi so i have an iPhone 5 running 7.0.6. I want to restore it through iTunes but don't wish to update it. I downloaded the ipsw from the internet and hoping that i can just restore it using that. Is it possible to do that?
Open itunes and hold shift and click on restore button then a brownser pops up, then locate your ipsw and click on it, then itunes will restore… If you get an error then reset your via in iphone setting
You most likely can't do that. You'll probably get error 3194, since Apple is no longer "signing" iOS 7.0.6, only 7.1.1. I don't see why you wouldn't want to update though.
- Will updating my iPhone apps affect my phone speed as how updating the Operating System (OS) will? Currently I'm using the iPhone 5s on iOS 8.3 I know if I were to update my phone to the latest OS I may notice some slowdown on my phone's performance, since it may not have the "muscle" to handle certain functions. Many apps now are optimised for iOS 9 and/or the 6th generation phones. Will my 5s' speed performance slow down if I update my apps? Will the app's performance slow down?

- Restore iPhone without updating? I have an iPhone 6 on iOS 9 that I forgot the password for, so i do not have access inside the phone. I want to restore the phone without having to update it. The phone is not logged into iCloud so I can't wipe it using iCloud. I just need a way to restore the iPhone but keeping it on the same iOS version.
