How to restore iPhone without updating? - 1

Forgot password, going to restore.
Want to stay at iOS6. How do I do this and still have my jailbreaks and iOS6.

You could try and download an iOS 6.xx ipsw file for your iPhone
1. Try Shift-clicking the restore button first. If it works, go to Step 6
2.Boot your phone in recovery mode and connect to iTunes
3.Wait for iTunes to tell you the phone is in recovery mode
4.Click OK
5. Then hold Shift and click(not sure if iTunes still allows this but it did in the old versions)
6.A dialog box should pop up. Find the ipsw file you just downloaded
It should restore. But sadly, you will have to jailbreak again.

  • Will updating my iPhone apps affect my phone speed as how updating the Operating System (OS) will? Currently I'm using the iPhone 5s on iOS 8.3 I know if I were to update my phone to the latest OS I may notice some slowdown on my phone's performance, since it may not have the "muscle" to handle certain functions. Many apps now are optimised for iOS 9 and/or the 6th generation phones. Will my 5s' speed performance slow down if I update my apps? Will the app's performance slow down?

  • Restore iPhone without updating? I have an iPhone 6 on iOS 9 that I forgot the password for, so i do not have access inside the phone. I want to restore the phone without having to update it. The phone is not logged into iCloud so I can't wipe it using iCloud. I just need a way to restore the iPhone but keeping it on the same iOS version.
