How to set contacts to iPhone on my iPhone?

On my old iPhone I could set contacts to iPhone, meaning it would register the message to be iMessage straight away, but recently I got an iPhone 5c and it won't let me set contacts to iPhone which means I can't use the location services and it takes a while to register them with iMessage. Is there any way I can set them to iPhone on my contacts?

Nope. After iOS7 that feature/option is gone now. We all complained about it. But once you set the number as mobile, iOS7 can now 'tell' if it's a iDevice so the functionality is still the same. Best luck.

  • Will iTunes wipe out my iPhone data if it wants to Set as New iPhone? I've owned an iPhone 5s for over a year, it's currently running iOS 10.3.3 but I've just connected to iTunes for the first time however I only get 2 options, either "Set it up as new iPhone" or "Restore from an old backup", but that last backup is from 2015. So, if if I select "As New iPhone" will it wipe out my data?
  • Whatsapp contacts - if they're onnm contacts am I on theirs? I have the phone number of an old friend stored on my iPhone and they also show on my whatsapp contact list… Does this mean that they still have my phone number stored in their phone and also have whatsapp installed on their phone? The chat thing says they haven't been seen since 28th sept? If they didn't have my number on their phone would they still show as one of my contacts on whatsapp?
  • My contacts keep changing into my parent's contacts? I'm using my Dad's old iPhone 4, so it has all of his data. I cleared out everything that was his but I hate the part where each time my parent's add a new contact to their phone, everything syncs over to my contacts, so I'm scrolling down my list and see a new person I don't know but my parents do. Is there a way to change this?
  • If I set up a new iphone from an icloud backup, what happens to the old iphone? Will the data and apps automatically be deleted from the old iphone, or will it stay there until i delete it manually?
