How to set up an existing phone number on an old iPhone 4S?
My mom had the iPhone 4S until she got the 5, and she restored it to factory settings and kept in in the original box. I had an iPhone 4, and lost it outside in a field, while I had my camouflage case on it… She gave me her old 4S and I selected the option to "restore from iCloud backup" and I entered my Apple ID and everything worked, I got all my pictures back and my messages and apps, except for one thing- there's no service, and the phone says that its number is my mom's phone number, and not my original phone number. How do I get this phone to have my phone number and have service and work?
Call the carrier and tell them you want to put your number onto that phone.
- Switching number from Verizon to Straighttalk AT&T. How to keep my old number? Right now, I have a Verizon noncontract phone. I'm buying an iPhone 4 from a friend which is on the Straighttalk AT&T micro sim plan. I'm moving to the Straighttalk AT&T plan and need to know how to get my number changed over and where to get a new micro SIM card from.
- Just switched my number to a new iphone, but my old phone still works? I just went and started an individual plan and got a new iphone 5, and they carried over my number from the virgin mobile prepaid i had before. My new iphone can make calls and send and receive texts… But so can my old phone. And when i called my cell number using my house phone, my old phone rang, but my new iphone didn't. Do i have to like cancel service or something? I'm confused about what to do, the guys at apple didn't mention anything about it.
- How to transfer my number to my new iPhone from my old one since I didn't get a serial number? I had an iPhone 5 that got damaged so I had to get a new one from the Apple store. I use Straight Talk and it says on their website that I have an incorrect serial number. The Apple store didn't give me one and the serial number that's in my new phone doesn't work. Straight Talk says to use the serial number from the card that is given to you, but I didn't get a card.

I recently have purchased a used iPhone 4 from a friend of mine, and would like to use it as my phone. Can someone please explain to me how I can use the iPhone with my current phone number and potentially same data plan?
