How to take a photo of myself from my ceiling?

I basically want to a get of shot of myself sleeping in my bed but obviously with a different perspective, as if someone is looking over me. I've heard of this being done without a second party but I can't figure it out! I've even tried using my iPhone on my ceiling fan but it still needed to be higher up to catch my full body… Just trying to do a photographic art project, please help if you can!

If this is for a photo project. Your iPhone probably won't be the right medium to please your teacher with.

The reason it doesn't get your whole body is because the iPhone lens is not wide enough.

I don't know how high your ceilings are but for me to do this I would need:

A tall tripod with a long arm
A remote shutter or timer set on camera
Probably a lens under 40mm on a full dram sensor/film

Set the timer (the longest option), quickly tape your phone to your celing with a ducktape and lay down.

Tape your iphone onto your ceiling instead of the fan, that way it will be steady. Download a self timing picture app and you're good to go

Tape or velcro your camera to the cieling. Masking tape or painter's tape will stick for a little while and will not leave much if any residue on your camera. Duct tape will hold much better but you may need to use a petrolium solvent to get the residue off your camera.
Then use the timer, remote trigger or time lapse funtion on your camera to take the shot.
You will most likely have to try this several times to get the shot you want.
