How to transfer music from my new updated iTunes 10.6.3 onto my iPhone 4?

I upgraded my iTunes to the new 10.6.3 version and also updated my iPhone 4 to the new software. I can no long drag music into my iPod like i used to do. The only way to save the new songs is to delete everything on my phone which i don't want to do. How can i add new music and still keep the old ones.

On your iTunes, is the box to "manually manage music and video" checked? If not, do so now.

To this extend, you can refer to iTransfer, a powerful tool exclusively designed to help you manage the data transference between Apple devices. With it, you just need to transfer those songs from iPod to the computer and then transfer the songs to your iPhone 4 from the computer. Of course, during the transference, you can still keep the songs on your iPod.

  • My itunes says it hasn't updated een though I updated it? I went to update my iphone and it said I had to update my itunes first and restart my computer (i have a macbook.) So I did all that and went to try and update my phone again and it still said I had to update my itunes first so I did it again and it is still not allowing me to update my iphone. It still says I need the latest version of itunes. What am I do wrong!
  • Is it possible to transfer music from an iPhone/iPod onto iTunes? I can't be bothered to install cd's and such all over again so I wanted to check if anyone knows whether it's possible to transfer the music directly from an iPhone or an iPod onto iTunes? I don't want to download anything for it though… I have a MacBook Pro, if that's something that has to be said, haha I'm not that good with all this technical stuff.
