How to transfer photos from my canon to my iPhone4s?

I just got a canon yesterday and i was just wondering how i can transfer the photos from my canon onto my iPhone. I tried saving them to my computer then sending them to myself through facebook message, but it turned out bad quality. Is there another way? Please Explain.

Email. Or any photo storage sites. Google cloud. Flikr. Photobucket.etc etc.

All of these sites compress your files for viewing on the web so the quality goes away.

Can you load material directly from your computer to this phone? If not then you can't, not without what you've already done.

My partner has upgraded from an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 5s we want to transfer his photos and apps onto the new phone he doesn't have them backed up on iCloud or iTunes so need to do it using a PC?
