How to use my iPhone abroad without being charged?

What I mean is how would I go about setting it so that I can use it as a camera and music player without any phone functions incurring charges - I need not to use data or to receive any messages or calls anyone send my way.

Just cut the phone service off… You can use the camera and use it like a mp3 for music.

Just turn aiprlane mode on… Then that makes it Wi-Fi only. There should also be a celluar on/off button… You can use that too.

  • Will i still be charged if i use my iphone abroad only on Wi-Fi? I'm going to thailand. I don't want to pay for data charges abroad. My iphone is on contract with o2. If i turn off my mobile data and 3g. And will only use Wi-Fi when i can connect to free Wi-Fi over there, will i be charge?
  • Will I get charged for using my iPhone abroad? I'm going to Holland tomorrow and I was wondering if I would get charged for taking my phone with me? I'm on a pay monthly contract but it doesn't include roaming/ international things… I'm with the 3 network if that makes a difference… I won't be calling anyone or making texts but I'll probably be using Wi-Fi? Will I get charged just for taking my phone to a different country even if I don't use it at all? Any help appreciated, Thanks.
  • Will I be charged if I receive an oncoming call while traveling abroad? I'm traveling abroad and taking my iPhone. I don't have an international package so I'm not planning on making any calls or sending messages. However, what if someone calls me instead? What will happen if I ignore the call and let it go straight to voicemail? Will I get charged for it?
  • Why am I being charged to send an iPhone message to another iPhone?
