I accidntly put my cracked iPhone 4s in the Washing machine?

I came home from a party and took off my jeans and through it in the laundry basket on laundry day. Forgetting that the iphone was in there i carried on with my normal routine. The next day my mom told me she found it in the washing machine. Now all the noise is responsive ( siri, and charging effect) but the screen is black.

Sounds to me like you're screwed.

Do this: put the phone in a container and cover it with raw rice. Make sure the container is tightly sealed and leave it sealed overnight. The rice will draw all of the moisture out of the phone.

I know this sounds weird, but it works! I dropped my iphone in the toilet and it was totally jacked up and unusable. I tried this method and the next day my phone worked as good as new!

  • My iphone 5s went on a washing machine and it turns on and the screen too but the touch dosent work? I tried putting it in rice and drying it with a hair drier or blow drier everything works except the touch and the screen has a white strap going down and you can see the water or water stains any suggestions
  • My iphone 5 was in the washing machine It was in the pocket of a pair of sweatpants for about 5 minutes by the time i realized i had left it in there the water had just started to run. My phone was wet but there didn't seem to be too much damage. The music still played fine and i could hear people on calls. But then i noticed a screen discoloration in the bottom left corner! Is this bad? Do i need to go to the Apple Genius Bar or to the Verizon store? I'm soaking it in rice now and it is still in warranty.

  • IPhone dongle went through washing machine? I accidentally left the dongle (lightning to aux adapter) in the pocket of a jacket that went through the washing machine. The cord s completely dry, so is there any harm in trying to plug it into the iPhone and an aux cord to see if it still works?
