I got a pop up while browsing the Internet on my iphone 6. Scam? Should I be concerned?

So I was browsing the web on my phone and trying to go to youtube. I tried to type in youtube.com, but I accidentally misspelled the URL and it redirected me to a different website. A pop up appeared on my screen that just kept popping back up when I hit "okay" to close it. The pop up basically said that malware has been detected on my phone and my data has been breached. I needed to call a number in order to fix it. IIm certain that this is a scam, but IIm concerned that it may be right about malware being on my phone and my Information being stolen (specifically my debit card # that I use to buy stuff off iTunes). Is it possible the website could ve downloaded a virus on my phone?

With iphones they can't get the viruses on the phone, so you don't have to worry about that. In your case its just a website trying to fool you.

It's a rogue pop up called scareware. IPhones can't get viruses. Just dint ever visit that site again

  • What does this mean and should I be concerned? I was watching YouTube on my iPhone when I randomly got this message. "A server with the specified hostname could not be found." I googled this and found that people who've gotten this message were trying to set up "mountain lion servers". I have no idea what those are and have never done anything like that on my iPhone, does this mean my phone could've been hacked or something? (I have not jailbroken my phone if that makes any difference) What should I do?
  • Spam message from twitter opened on iphone, should I be concerned? I received a direct message on twitter that was the usual spam trying to get me to click on a link. Normally I never open these and delete them but thanks to the notifications setting it opened the message directly but thankfully not the link. Should I be concerned of any possible infection from this?
  • Looking for iPhone/iPad Internet browsing app? I'm looking for a browser app that requires you to input a password when you open it. I'm tired of people opening google chrome and closing all my tabs, so is there an app that lets you set a password? I highly doubt it, but you never know.
