I have a canon powershot SX530 and i was wondering how to turn off the i guess image flip

So, you know how the iphones front camera takes the picture of your face and then flips the image? That's exactly what my camera does and i was wondering how to stop it. If i can't i would like to know if the Sony alpha a5000 has the same problem because i'm interested in buying. It's crazy because on youtube the canon dosen't flip their vlogs or their selfies but it does mine… So i don't even use this camera anymore. I really need help.

It seems that you do not understand that a camera records exactly what is in front of it. NO camera "flips" the photos around.

When you look through the viewfinder, you are seeing exactly what will be recorded on the film or sensor.

Are you saying that when you are shooting video of yourself with the LCD monitor articulated to where you can view yourself while in the video? That image is correct.

Why is it you do not want to purchase an actual video camera. My JVC camcorder works perfectly when I record myself while watching the LCD faced toward me.

That would be odd for a dedicated camera.
Do this experiment:
Take a picture or video of text (sign, manifesto, …) and play it back. Can you read the text normally? If so, the image is not flipped.

I could find anything in the SX530 owners manual regarding horizontal adjustments, mirror image, flipping the image, rotating it on its horizontal axis. Are you seeing the reversed image on the camera's LCD screen or are you using an app to review the images on your computer? My guess is that the image either not being flipped, or it's being flipped by the software you use to edit the shots.

Hold up a newspaper in front of your neck and take a photo of yourself. Can you read the print or is it back to front (flipped)?

No camera that I know of flips the picture.

In a mirror you see a flipped image of yourself, as you will find out if you try the newspaper test again.
