I have to restore my iPhone but I don't want to lose my data?

Please bear with me, I'm technologically impaired.

So I got an iPhone 4s and I didn't connect it to iTunes yet. And then I saved many phone numbers and pictures and now I have to restore my iPhone to factory settings. But if I do that all my data will be erased… Isn't there any way at all to keep the data or transfer it to my computer before restoring?

Set up your iCloud and back up everything on there. You can manage your iCloud in the Settings menu.

You can back up everything onto your iTunes account that's on your iPhone so when you restore it you can have everything added back onto your iPhone that you had on it before you restored it.

1) Plug your iPhone into your computer
2) Open up iTunes
3) Look for your iPhone to appear under the Devices
4) Right click on your iPhone
5) Select the option that says Back Up

How to resync everything to your iPhone after you backed up:
1) Plug your iPhone into your computer
2) Right click on your iPhone that's in the Devices Tab
3) Click on Restore from back up

Sync your phone to create a back up, then restore the phone. Once this is done sync again to get the contacts and photos back onto the phone.

  • ITunes telling me to restore iPhone but i don't want to? My iPhone 4s died earlier so i plugged it into my laptop. When it turned on again the screen said to connect to iTunes and there's no way to get out of it. When I put up iTunes on my laptop it said i had to restore and I can't remember the last time i backed up my phone! I DO NOT want to restore my phone how do i get out of this? if there's no way out, how do i put back all of my contacts and photos from the last time i backed it up on iTunes?
