I'm American but what if I bought my Iphone in Canada?

Okay my iphone is under the carrier bell, but soon I'm going back to United States can I unlock it And use it with virgin mobile USA? Or am I just going to have to use it like an iPod?

Don't worry your phone won't go to waste! Supposedly I brought an iPhone from the US and came back to my house in the UK I will still be able to use my phone here in the UK - if it is unlocked, that is.

If your phone is locked to a SIM - AT&T, Verizion (and the other carries over there in the US) etc. Then it is locked to that carrier and only that carrier which means wherever you go, whether you go around the world it won't work because it is locked to that carrier, which basically means it only supports that specific carrier.

If your phone is locked but you are going to unlock it when you get back to the US then yes, you can use it like normal.

So to answer your question it its simplest form: no you're not going to only have to use it just like an iPod. Go unlock it and then you will be able to use it in the US.

Sorry my answer was a bit long, just wanted to make sure you got it.

Take care - have a great day ahead of you.

  • Should an iPad bought in Canada work with Airpods from Ireland? I bought airpods off a seller in Ireland for 140 euros and the Airpods aren't connected to my iPad's bluetooth. I tried 2 other Bluetooth headphones and they both connected to my iPad. I messaged the seller and he said it's probably because my iPad was bought from Canada and so it's not compatible. Is this true? I got my iPad just a month ago in Alberta, Canada?
