I may or may not have broken my iPhone

I went to push the power button on top and it's like stuck. Its not popping back up like it should. Is there any way to fix this without having to send it off. My mom would kill me if I really broke it, please help.

I'm assuming it's either the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S because I've seen many cases within the past few months of the same exact problem. I would highly recommend taking your iPhone to the Apple Store to double-check that it's a hardware problem. If so, they can check to see if your iPhone is under warrantee to cover a replacement if necessary.

If not, you can turn on an accessibility feature that allows you to lock your screen if the sleep/wake button doesn't work at all.

Go to Settings - General - (scroll to the bottom) Accessibility - (scroll to the bottom) Assitive Touch - Turn on the Slider

  • Why does a message on my iPhone keep popping up that that This accessory may not be supported? Why does a message on my iPhone keep popping up that that "This accessory may not be supported"? I'm charging it if that makes a difference but I'm using the charger that came with the phone.
  • This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone? I have a life proof case and I took it under water. I noticed some water inside the case so I took it off and saw that there was water on the outside of the phone. Ever since then a note pops up every 15-30 seconds saying "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this phone". What should I do? Is there a way to fix it? My phone is virtually unusable since this annoying message keeps popping up. Any help would be appreciated.
  • This cable is not recommended for this iPhone and may not be reliable? I recently bought a new but un-Apple-certified lightning cord for my iPhone 5c, but this error message has started popping up after about using it about 5 times. Now, my phone is completely dead, and I have no money to buy a new cable, no cable that will charge my phone, and a dead phone. I'm completely desperate for help here, since, like a cliche white girl, my phone is my life.
  • This cable is not certified and may not work reliably with this iphone? I have had this message before, but my phone was plugged in. This time I was at a concert wearing a bag that was loose on my body and my phone was in it. It could be easily taken out without me noticing. I took it out and the message appeared. Is it possible that someone plugged something in to my phone and put a virus or something on it? Or am I just being paranoid?
