I need tips for when I go back in time to 2012?
Today is November 14th, 2015. Let's say I wanted to go to an alternate universe/timeline (so I won't be erased, no pardoxes or anything. Basically exactly same universe as our own except it started 3.5 years later) on May 14th, 2012. If I brought with me my iPhone 6, would I receive texts my past self would have received with his iPhone 4. Would I lose my photos on iCloud? Would the music on my Spotify and Music playlist disappear? Would my iOS 9 crash? Would the NSA figure it out? Should I get a fake ID?
I really need to know all this because I have constructed a time machine and plan to go back to the past tonight and need to pack. I moved approximately 2.5 years ago from the west coast to Midwest. I plan to go back in time and give myself a year to get to the west coast and formulate a plan to stop myself from moving. Then I plan to secretly guide my younger self through life while I start a new life in the past. Should I get a fake birthday and secret identity so I can still have doctor appointments in case of health issues? Anything else I should worry about? Is this illegal? Will the government get in my way?
Going back tonight…
Time travel is really tricky.
When I time travel I generally go to pre computer time periods and avoid involvement that could effect the time continuum, only staying short periods.
I'd suggest taking a device that's in with the year to which you're traveling. To use as your regular functional device.
Just like you'd be living in 2012 your iPhone6 would be there but it wouldn't receive technical support from 2015. So iCloud photos would be gone but photos downloaded or on a memory card would still be there. HOWEVER that event in the picture might not occur if the time continuum is changed. After all that's what you're trying to do… Right?
Yes you should get fake ID and birth date for your adventure. After all you may become stuck in the changed time continuum with your younger self. If you stay on the west cost you may never invent your time machine. There are far less time vortexes on the west coast then in the midwest.
May your journey be successful.
What network is your cell phone service with? Assuming you have the same SIM card in your phone as 3.5 years ago, and it was AT&T or T-Mobile, you should be able to receive texts that you received 3.5 years ago. Verizon and Sprint also register the specific phone so that wouldn't work. Essentially if you are with Verizon or Sprint, your iPhone 6 would have no service.
Of course, anything you put on the cloud in the last 3.5 years would disappear, simply because you haven't done it yet.
And your plan makes no sense. Why not just take the last 3.5 years of knowledge about sporting events, stock markets, etc. And go back and make yourself extremely wealthy? Open accounts your old self doesn't know about using your real ID and SS#, etc. Live somewhere else. Get wealthy.
Then in 2015, after you go back, you can step back into your life as you left it, except fantastically richer.
One last tip. Since you are thinking about this now, create a temporal password for yourself, that way if a future version of you ever comes back and gives you instructions, you can verify his identity by asking him the temporal password you created for yourself.
After reading some time travel stories, I actually did this years ago for fun. Any future me will need to tell me my temporal password and a very embarrassing moment in my life that no one else knows about because I've never told anyone. Only if he can do that will I trust him.
- Why does it feel as if the year 2012 was the last of the real time. & everything after has been weird in the world? After 2012 stuff really started to change for the worse in this world. Is it just me? Real music Real people Less social media And iPhones Etc
- New Facebook app! August 2012. How do I delete comments? You used to be able to just drag your finger across it and now you can't?! Oh and I'm Talking about from my iPhone:-) Grrrr trust mine not to work! I tried it on a few different comments I've posted and it won't do it. I have the worst luck with this bloody thing lol
- Need USB to play music in 2012 Lancer. How can I get it? I bought a 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer recently but it doesn't have a USB port to be able to play music and charge my iPhone. (Music is the most important part). What are my options for getting one? I noticed you might have to pay like 600+ dollars to get the whole sound system replaced. I'm hoping there are cheaper options so any tips would be appreciated.
- Is the iphone 3G still worth buying in 2012? My old android broke so I needed a replacement - I looked on ebay and found a refurbished iphone 3G for about £120.So I'm not sure if an iphone released in 2008 will still be very good in 2012. Opinions?
