I restored my computer and lost all my CD's i put on my iTunes library

So I restored my computer and it has all the purchases on iTunes now but most of my music is off of my CD's. And I don't want to re download all that. So I plugged in my iPhone and tried to back up my music and it said it would erase the music off my Phone and transfer it to the library. But it just erased it off my iPhone. So now I have my iPod. And I do not want to mess this up and have to re download everything. I lost half of my CD's. So only people who know what there talking about answer please. Thank you.

Added (1). I thought I was going to be able to put the songs on my iPhone to my computer. That's why I didn't back my computer up. And by restore I mean restore to factory settings. So its like new.

"So I restored my computer"

You've what? Is that like reformatting a computer?

"So now I have my iPod. And I do not want to mess this up and have to re download everything."

What are you asking? You've already messed this up when you went to the trouble of ripping a bunch of CD's and not saving for backup what you ripped by copying it to something like DVDR - a single one of those could hold like a thousand songs. I save this way and managed to protect all my music - a collection begun over a decade ago.

If you mean you want to copy all the music from your iPod back to computer, this step by step guide will help you a lot. This way also for the non-purchased CD music.

If you bought the cds on iTunes check in the purchased section to redownload the songs(pretty fast) but if they were on actual CDs then I'm sorry to say that you will have to reburn those disks to your computer.
EDIT-if you are trying to connect your iPod and download all the songs on there to your computer then do not erase and sync. That means u erase what's on your iPod and sync with what you have in iTunes. It's confusing how they say it. Just plug your iPod in and transfer all purchases. It will download all songs from your iPod to iTunes without erasing what's on your iPod. Hope this helps.

  • I had to factory reset my computer and lost all my itunes music? I have all my music and apps on my phone, but the original itunes account I used was disabled so I had to make a new account that I use now. However, in order to put new music on my phone it wants me to delete all my music off my iphone. Is there any way to connect the two accounts or move my music from my phone into my itunes so I don't have to delete it and lose all of it?
  • How to transfer music from my iphone's music library to my itunes library? How do you take the music from your Iphone's music tab and put it on a playlist outside of the iphone section? My iphone broke and I need to transfer my music.
