If i don't have a data plan, but have an iphone, what can i do on it?
My dad got an iphone 4s, and wants to give me his old 3g.hes going to give it to me, but i can't afford the data plan. So if i have an iphone, and no data plan, would i be able to go on the app store, buy music, etc?

You can do absolutely nothing, other than make calls and send texts. You can use it with Wi-Fi, but your carrier will not let you add the phone on the account without a data plan.
Obviously, there's this thing called Wi-Fi: p.Yes you can do everything with Wi-Fi and it doesn't take much battery life as a data plan. If you want to make calls from your phone get a cheap package without a data plan.
- I have to restore my iPhone but I don't want to lose my data? Please bear with me, I'm technologically impaired. So I got an iPhone 4s and I didn't connect it to iTunes yet. And then I saved many phone numbers and pictures and now I have to restore my iPhone to factory settings. But if I do that all my data will be erased… Isn't there any way at all to keep the data or transfer it to my computer before restoring?

- I have a global data plan for my iphone 4, but i'm not getting 3G in amsterdam? I can use Wi-Fi in the hostel, but I would like internet when I'm out running around and I need directions and stuff. I already switched my data roaming to on in my settings and all that, shouldn't it work? Yes I activated my plan changes before I left. Isn't a data plan supposed to cover 3G? The Verizon guy said it should but I think he lied to me.
