If I have a T-Mobile SIM card from my old iPhone. Do I buy a factory unlocked iPhone or a T-Mobile one

It doesn't really matter. Either one will work. The main advantage the unlocked one has is that it will support other carriers right out of the box while the T-Mobile won't until you unlock it. Either one will work exactly the same way.
I personally would go for the unlocked one since I don't have to worry about unlocking it later on.
- Why Iphone 4S won't read T-mobile Sim card even though factory unlocked? I have an iphone 4S and it reads Att sim card no problem, i had the phone factory unlocked and it even said Congratulations your iPhone is unlocked after i restored it in iTunes, but all it says is no service i tried two different T-Mobile sim cards. I even checked my imei number online and it said the phone was factory unlocked. Is there anything i can try, i've never ran across something like this.
- My factory unlocked iphone 4s doesn't recognize my sim card? I purchased a used 32GB factory unlocked iPhone 4S on ebay and it will not activate with my t-mobile sim card no matter what I try either on the phone or in itunes. I'm pretty sure the phone is unlocked because I looked up the IMEI number online and it said the phone was unlocked. I did trim the sim card myself so it could fit in the iphone but it still works in my old phone still so I know i didn't damage the sim card. Any help on how to resolve this would be appreciated!
- If I switch my iPhone 5 Sim Card to a factory unlocked iPhone 5, will it still work? I have AT&T. If I take out my current iPhone 5 sim card and place it into another iPhone 5 that is factory unlocked and purchased from Apple will it automatically transfer all the memory to the new iPhone?
- If i buy unlocked iphone 5 and insert my t-mobile sim card in it, will it work? T-mobile offers no iphone and i have 2 year contract with them. I read on internet that many t-mobile users have started using iphone after they buy it unlocked. But i went to at and t store and they said it will not work with t-mobile and that if i sign up contract with them, only then it will work. so who is liar - the internet users or the at and t shop?
