If I jailbreak my iPhone 4s, will it void the warranty on my iPhone 5s?

Just upgraded to the 5s and I'm wondering can I jailbreak my old phone without voiding the warranty on my new phone?

If the iPhone 4s is your property then no it will not void the warranty on the new phone. If they supplier still has any kind of ownership over it, then it could breach your contract! Time to dig out the contract and read it!

If you own it then it you can do whatever you want. If you have a payment plan or similar then it could be a breach of you contract. However your old phone should have no effect on your new phone's warranty.

  • Will taking my iPhone to a cellphone repair shope void the warranty? There's a cell phone repair shop nearby my house. The top button of my iPhone 5 has become unresponsive. I've only had it since December. I went to the apple store, but they wanted to replace the entire phone. I thought that was crazy just for a button. Will taking my iPhone to a cell phone repair shop just to see what they say or if they can fix it end up making my warranty void?
  • Will scratches and minor dents void my iPhone 4's warranty? Yesterday I called apple because my lock screen button had been pushed in, I was told that as long as it hadn't been dropped, which it hadn't, that it should be replaced at the spot but I'd have to bring it into an apple store. Now what's worrying me is that there's a few scratches around my lock button because I used to like wearing long acrylic nails and using them to take debris out of in between the button. Will this void my warranty in any way?
