IMessage from ireland to england?

I live in the republic of ireland and my friend lives in england and we both have iphones. I don't want to be skyping all the time and facebooking so i was wondering, can you imessage if the other person is in england? And does it cost money?

Text message? Yes, of course it costs money. Skyping and Facebooking are free as long as you are on free Wi-Fi.

No, iMessage is free and does not cost money. You just need to had an email address and Internet connection to use it. I live in the Republic of Ireland also, and I'm like constantly Imessaging my mates from England.

IMessage is free and over the internet, so yes you can do it from different countries.

  • Will my iPhone camera and apps work in England? I'm going to England for 2 weeks on Tuesday and was wondering if the camera and apps will all work. I don't care about the phone or texting part. Its an iPhone 5 and I have Verizon btw. I'd like to put pictures on Facebook and Twitter/update status/tweet etc. From my phone as well without having to use a computer.
  • Will my iPhone 4 work in England? I'm going overseas this summer and fall for studying, and was wondering if I can have a contract over there, keeping my same iPhone. My carrier is Verizon.
  • Will it costs to send an iMessage from England to Ireland and vice versa? Just wondering my boyfriend and I both have iPhones with iMessage and he is away in Ireland for a couple of days. Will iMessage still work and be free for us or does he need Wi-Fi for iMessage to send to me? How will it work out? He is on 02, I'm on orange uk.
  • Will I need an electrical/power adapter to travel to England? (I live in Canada)? I'm traveling to England next summer to visit some family for a month and I was wanting to bring my laptop and phone along with me. I have a Sony Vaio and iPhone 4 (I don't know if that makes a difference at all). If I need to get one, what type do I buy and where can I purchase one? Preferably not online.
