In your opinion, is this home-based business illegal?

I've called the local zoning board regarding this business. They have said they will look into it but haven't done anything. Its been nearly 3 weeks since I initially called them.
I live next door to this business, we just moved in about 3 months ago. This business is called MICHAEL AND WANG located in Roanoke, Virginia. They are a cell phone repair and sales business. It seems even though they are running out of the home, they have no signs outside their home indicating it is in fact a business, except for 1 little sign on the top of their door that says *MICHAEL AND WANG CELL PHONE SERVICE* This sign is barely visible from the road.

I feel something illegal is going on here. I will provide a link to their Facebook page here… Which lists the residential address as their business address…

I would like to know if what they are doing is illegal. Obviously something illegal is going on. I have seen them take literally boxes of iPhones into the home and who knows what they do with them. Sell them I presume. Just about every 2 days or so a few people will come by that house and leave with a phone.
The owners of the home are chinese. When asked about it, they act like they don't understand english. The guy, Michael who is the Michael in the name MICHAEL AND WANG is an american who helps them. He just keeps telling me mind my own business and is very very tight lipped.
What's your opinion about this?

If they are legitimate perhaps they are selling on line? That could account for the quantity of product vs. A lack of traffic at the door. The service part might be a smaller added revenue stream. Do they send//receive a lot of packages at their door or is it all pick up at the P.O.

But the link says not available. That would be rather difficult for a web business. And Mike's attitude is suspect. Whether they are a licensed business or not should be available on line. Your local government is dropping the ball for sure. One week is plenty of time to investigate and reply. Police will probably tell you to call code enforcement unless they can tie it to stolen phones. The state may have some reason to get involved. Doubt anyone will though since they are foreigners. How do your other neighbors feel about this? One voice is easy to ignore. A few voices pushing the issue might get answers.

  • Your opinion: Best protective case for an iPhone? It seems the Otterbox is the most go-to brand but does a Griffin case do just as well? What other brands work? I'm new to the iPhone world and I don't really want to drop and damage an expensive phone.
  • What is your opinion on gun control? Please, no semi-literate, iphone zombie, teenage kids. This question is for the big boys only, OK? Now, i believe in gun ownership of all forms but i would like to view your perspective on any gun peeve that you might have. It can't be "Well, less guns, less crime!" cause that's not true, that theory has been proven wrong. Thanks for commenting, you guys both provided very good points with stable answers.
  • What is the hardest subject in school? (Your opinion)? Math ( Geometry ) ;A; it takes me up to 3 weeks to 100% understand the concept however I get behind. Thanks for answers, I was getting really bored sneaking glances in the iPhone while doing homework ( my mom is watching me holy crap o.o ) Welp, bye Facebook, bye YA, bye YouTube. Goodnight. Alycia- 分かりますか XDDD
  • Give your honest opinion on my photo? Please give your opinion and any critique. This was with an iPhone camera only, no editing or anything. I learned the rule or thirds after this… I now have a Nikon D3100, but this was before.
