IPhone 3 problems. Need to update the software?
My parents got me an iPhone 3 for Christmas, and when I try to download games from the Apple Store, it says I need the software version 4.3, I have version 4.2. When I try to update my phone, it keeps saying that it is up to date. How do I update the software so I can download applications?
Unfortunately you won't be able to to much with that version of the iPhone. Most all of the applications available in the App Store require a newer version of the iOS software and that version of the iPhone won't load anything over 4.2.1 or something like that.
You'll need to get an iPhone 4 at least to take advantage of the newer iOS software. I think AT&T and others are offering the iPhone 4 for free and the 4S for pretty cheap so you'll want to get a newer phone.

- Problems updating software on iPhone? I recently attempted to update the software on my iPhone from IOS 5.0 to 5.1. However, after iTunes backed up my phone and extracted the old software, it forcefully ejected my phone from the program. When I attempt to turn the phone, it tells me to plug it into iTunes, as there's currently no software on the phone, but iTunes no longer recognizes the phone as a device. Any suggestions on how I could put the software back on my phone so I can use it without having to go to the Apple store?

- Is ''Iphone'' software only or hardware and software? I've never had an Iphone. I always see it anounced in an absolutely black device, such as this one: http://pective.com/m/iphone-5 I wonder whether, when you're going to buy one, you go to the apple store and buy the whole thing, or look for a Nokia or Sony smartphone and then go to the Apple website and buy and download the software into your device.
