Iphone 4 not working, fell in water?
I have had a refurbished iphone 4 for 4 months now and it was working perfectly. I made the common idiotic mistake of jumping in the pool with it in my pocket.
So, I asked some friends for advice. It was clearly not going to turn on. I tried the rice in a bag technique as everyone told me this has worked for them in the past. I tried leaving my phone in an air tight bag of rice for 3 days.
It turned back on! It worked. Only problem is I could see a huge wet spot in the middle of the screen and the battery percentage % stayed the at the same number like 29% even when charged for hours. 2 days later the iphone died. I've tried the rice in a bag method again for another 4 days. Now it turns on showing the Apple logo in the middle, but then it goes black again. It repeats this process over and over again but won't fully turn on.
My question: Is this a battery problem? I would like to replace the battery myself and avoid spending $100 at some iphone repair shop. I found a kit on EBay.
It could be a beattery problem, but it could also be something else. You're probably just better off buying a new phone.
- What to do if your iPhone fell in water? I tried the blow dryer approach and now I submerged my phone in a container filled with rice. Is there anything else I can try at this point?
- What do i do, my iphone fell in water I was brushing my teeth while listening to music from my iphone and it fell in the sink and was completely submerged in water for about a few seconds but i got it out quickly. I turned it off right away and put it in a bowl of wild rice (obvously not cooked) because thats what it said online. Did i do the right thing? Does anyone have any better methods? If the rice is the right idea, how long do i leave my phone in it?
- My iPhone fell into water I took a blow dryer to it, then I soaked it in a bag of rice. It'll turn on when it's plugged into a wall charger, but it says it needs to be connected to iTunes and be restored, so I plugged it into my laptop and it won't turn on.iTunes won't even pick up my phone to sync or ANYTHING. I need help! I left it in the bag of rice OVER 24 hours.
- My iPhone fell in water, what should I do? Okay, so its not visibly damaged (the screen has no water on it) and it works fine so far. I turned it off and placed it in a sealed bag with rice. What should I do now? There isn't too much water in the phone. How long should I keep it in the bag? I was thinking 3 hours. Is that too short?
