IPhone 4 was stolen. How do I lock it if I'm nowhere near it so the thief won't be able to use it?
Yes, I know I'm stupid for not engaging a passcode for it. Grr.
Added (1). I know who has the phone. Trying to find some time to confront the man that stole it but I don't want the service provider to switch it off. I want the thief NOT to be able to use it in the meantime. People at the Apple Store I can do that myself (lock it from where I'm) but were unable to tell me how.
Call your phone service supplier and they can switch it off, they can also probably detect where it is.

Have the cell phone provider turn disable the sim. They will not help you find the phone without law enforcement, but they can black list it. If it is on ISO 8 and you have iCloud or "find my phone on" it is a brick to them after you turn off the sim.

I'm finishing up my end of the year la project and it on thiefs and one thing i wanted to know was when someone steals an iphone and takes out the sim card can they get tracked down if they change the sim cards with another one? Like they change the number and stuff i don't know.
- New contacts came out of nowhere on my iPhone 4 iOS 7? I just noticed a few minutes ago that I have about 100 NEW contacts on my contacts list on my iPhone. They just came out of nowhere, I don't even know these people and I've never seen them in my life. Some of my old contacts are deleted too.
