IPhone 4S exposed to a little water and won't turn on! Need advice

So I was taking a shower about two hours ago and was listening to my iPhone via an iHome like system. To change the music, I shake off any excess water in my hand and simply change the song. I have done this countless times before and like all previous times, my phone had a few drops of water on the screen. But today, my phone stopped working, froze up, and slowly faded to black. I immediately jumped out of the shower and had it in a bag of rice in less than 60 seconds. I just attempted to turn it on, but had no luck. The indicators have already changed colors, so apple won't work on it. In my opinion, there's literally no way that the water damage could be that significant. I know I just need to be patient and give it time, but is there anything I can do to expedite the process? More importantly, how do I know whether or not I should try to turn the phone on? I don't want to short circuit it. Or should I just give up trying completely and just bank on getting a new one? Please, please, please help me, I currently have pneumonia and this is really making for a terribly shitty day.

Put your phone in the microwave. Or in direct sunlight… LMAO! Jk

actually… You are 10000000000% dead wrong. When you shower, you let loose water vapor/mist… That vapor gets into the phone… Onto your motherboard… Onto the chips… And like milk to rice kripies… SNAP CRACKLE POP… Instant dead electronic device…

i didn't even get to the temperature range flux in the bathroom during your shower… Thats another way to kill a electronic device…

your only hope is to do the rice method… Wait 24 hours… If it turns on, your one lucky little girl… NEVER DO THAT AGAIN! If it won't turn on, well… Now you know never to take you electronic device into a shower area, rain storm, fog, hot tub, snow, exercise, etc etc etc etc

water vapor is a the silent killer of phones… Just an fyi

Hmm… Perhaps use hair dryer and dry the phone so the water inside it dries up.

  • Why do iPhone case like Otterbox have the Apple logo exposed on the back? I dropped my iPhone with an otterbox case on rocky surface and everything but the area with Apple logo is scratched
  • Little bit water got into my iPhone 6s speaker and the sound isn't working? My phone was in my bra as water got thrown at me by little kids, and i took out my phone and the screen was wet so i wiped off the water and it was fine, however the volume does not work. When i insert headphones the volume does work but i need to volume to work. I put my phone in rice and am hoping for the best… HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?
  • Iphone exposed to steam and now the sound doesn't work properly? So my iPhone 5s was exposed to hot water steam. Everything is working fine except for one thing. The outside speaker seems garbled and whenever I play music out loud, it seems extremely garbled. However, when I put in headphones, it sounds fine. How should I fix this?
  • IPhone 4S exposed to water Okay so I have a lifeproof waterproof case.while sitting in the hot tub the little clip came open for a few seconds letting water into my iPhone. You are supposed to turn the phone off when this happens, but my touch screen isn't useable and my lock button was already broken. Is there anything i can do?
