Iphone 4S keeps locking and saying slide to power off?

And the lock button won't even work. Everytime it turn it off, it keeps turning back on by itself. It started being like this when some water spilled on it. I just wiped off the screen but i didn't realize that there was also some water at the back because i had my iphone case on so i just saw it probably 15 minutes later. Do you think it was because of the water? Sometimes it even takes screenshots of my lockscreen without me doing anything.
is there any way to fix it?

Added (1). now i did a soft reset where i held the home and sleep/wake button together (but i just used the assistive touch for the sleep/wake button on top because again, it isn't working) and now the apple logo keeps appearing and disappearing and can't turn it on at all.

Added (2). i just charged it and it turned on again but i'm 100% sure it will still be faulty in a few minutes

In that case there's a possibility that the power button has malfunctioned. Replacing the Power button's Flex cable could fix your problem. The flex cable is not very expensive. It's better to take it to an iPhone vendor nearby, it's a simple replacement of the cable.

Okay tbms it turns on and off on and off and then sometimes it shows a red screen for a few seconds then off again and dies out.
