Iphone 4s sim in an old phone?

I sold my iphone and bought a £10 Sony Erickson w890i (Coincidentally my first ever phone a few years back) and I rang upo three and asked for a normal sim card. It arrived today and when i put it in this w890i, I just get 'Insert usim'. The phone IS locked to THREE but my sim card is on THREE>

Any ideas?

Could be a faulty Sim

  • Sim works in my old phone but not in the iphone? I'm getting my dads iPhone and I have a sim on a different contract when I put it in the iPhone it doesn't come up even though the iPhone is unlocked from the previous network it used
  • Different phone but same sim number so will I have my old contacts stored or no? My iphone 6s broke so I will be having an iphone 5 instead as a temporary phone. I can easily ask through social media numbers yet I'm just wondering. Will have phone on Thursday.
  • Old iPhone with old sim card? Mum just got a new iPhone, so gave her old one to my sister. My sister did not have an appropriate sized sim card, so they guy at the store cut it down. Mum's new sim card is working, but when we put my sisters in the old phone, it just keeps saying no service. What do we do? Can we use it or not?
  • Is a 6 year old old enough to have her own phone? I have a bunch of old iPhones (6,7,8) saved up and I'm thinking of putting her into the family plan. What do you think of a 6 year old having a smartphone?
