IPhone 4S water damage/Won't charge?

I recently seen that I had water damage to my iPhone 4S. The lsi mark went off, down by the charging port. My issue. I took it apart. Very little to no water was inside, but you could see water/corrosion done to the charging terminal… On the inside of the phone. Not outside. Also, upon looking at the terminal, there seemed to be missing pins. I heard there's suppose to be 30? Not sure. From what I counted, I only had 28 I believe. So 1 or 2 pins are missing/bent, with the addition of corrosion from water. When i plug my phone in to charge, it won't. It doest recognize it at all. Like its not even plugged in pretty much.everything else on the phone works. Is the charging termnal all I need to replace? Also, is there any way I can charge the iPhone battery, to see if its okay too? I only have 1 iPhone. So I can't swap batteries or anything suh as that.

About 60% of water damaged iphones, the battery dies first, so first try changing the battery to new one and if that does not work

there's no alternative i could recommend but taking it to professional.since you are already missing some screws, i will recommend a tech before it goes beyond repair

Water can destory electronics. Let it dry 2-3 days and hope it isn't damaged, if you turned it on then it may be to late. Otherwise make an appt and take it to an apple store so they can look at it. It may go down as a good lesson learned on how to better take care of your phone in the future.
If your contract is up, I would just get a new iphone and put your money towards that rather then towards fixing a water damaged phone.
You can recycle your old stuff on apple's site and they will give you store credit for it, so at least you will get something back for it. Even if damaged something is better then nothing.

  • Why won't my iPhone 4 charge after water damage? My middle button wasn't working either but I sat it in a bag of rice overnight and now it's working again, only problem is my phone won't charge. How can I fix that? It wasn't completely submerged a little bit of water just got inside the base piece.
  • My iphone got water damage and won't turn on? I dropped my iphone 4s in the toilet earlier and it was probably in the water for 3 seconds at the most. I took my case off and dried it the best i could and shook it to get some of the water out. It was in rice for about 8 hours and I charged it for a little, and the screen won't even turn on, but the flashlight won't turn off.
  • My iphone 4 has water damage and won't turn on? My water bottle leaked and even though only a few drops of water got on my phone, it won't turn on. I'm immersing it in rice right now, but in case that doesn't work can I take it to the Genius bar? The two external water damage indicators are not red and my phone looks normal. Would they be able to tell anyway? Are there any other remedies other than rice I can use?
  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
