IPhone 5 fell in the toilet
AAGHH! My mom went to go use the bathroom and low and behold she had no case on her phone and she had it in her back pocket… Do the math. She got it out immediately and dried it off a little. To keep her from bursting into tears I shut it off and stuck it in a bowl of brown rice and buried it in there. The screen LOOKS fine but the touch screen is totally shot. I know blow driers don't work (terrible idea), but is there anything else I can do? She is a busy lady and that phone is like a 2nd spouse with all the stuff she relies on it for. I already had to surrender my precious iPhone (torture!) for her to bring it to work. Plus when my dad realizes what she did, she'll be back to the Motorola Razor by the end of the week.
Rice is a myth, it really just depends if water damage was done or not. Let it dry several days and hopefully it will be ok.

I'm afraid that the heat may have damaged it as it was working after it had been in the water but it won't now. It just won't turn on. It is now in the rice, will it ever work again?

And so i put it in rice but its weird because i'm still getting all my calls & notifications so its like on but not? Do you think this is a bad sign? I just put it in about an hour ago.
