Iphone 5 not charging with 3rd party cable?
Iphone 5 not charging with 3rd party cable?
Added (1). I can't use the method of dismissing the alerts etc that I've found on Reddit because I never get the alert that the cable is an unsupported accessory. And next to the battery info there's still the little lightning bolt to indicate that it's charging, but it doesn't actually charge?
I also got a 3rd part charger 2 months before for my iPhone 5!
It worked for 2 weeks fine but then realized that my phone screen was popping out a little! It got quite fat after 1 month and it happened out to be swollen battery!
Now I use an original charger cable and have replaced the battery with a generic one! It never showed any sign of duplicate charger on my phone!
Always buy original chargers!
#rd party cables are never reliable. Throw it away and get a proper cable from apple. Apple will usually replace or fix broken charging cables.
- Why is it called third party? Who are the first and second party? So like in iPhone, you are not allowed to use a third part charger because it is not supported but I was wondering if there's a first party or a second party charger that exists?
- Is there a apple device or any 3rd party product like this? Where I can stream movies from itunes to my tv? Or anything similar to that amazon tv thing. I have something similar but it was from when I had an old iphone and now since I have an iphone 6, the charger plug-in is different compared to the 6's, rendering the current tool useless
- Is it safe to install 3rd party iPhone 6 batteries? I'm an electrical engineer but Apple does not sell batteries directly to the consumer. Instead, they ship it to the authorized service centre. The service centre charges a lot for a new battery(around $200 or more). While going through Amazon, I was able to find iPhone 6 batteries for $30-50. My battery is ok for now but I was wondering if it is safe to put a 3rd party battery https://www.amazon.com/...01B4TEJUM/
- IPhone charging cable not supported but still charging? I have a genuine Apple cable that came with my iPhone 6 (updated to the latest iOS). It fully charges up but when it gets to 100% I get a message that says "this accessory may not be supported". I don't see any damage to the cable and I have only had it a couple of months. Not sure whether to just ignore it or not?
