My iPhone 5s battery is swollen. Is that dangerous?

The top right of my screen keeps popping up. Someone told me it's because the battery is swollen. Is that dangerous? I'm too broke to buy a new phone right now, I have to wait till the summer. Is it safe?

You could look to getting the battery replaced & the phone put back together properly.

Never try to use a swollen battery.

Replace it.

If the battery is in fact swollen, it needs to be replaced. Today. STOP charging it, TODAY, a swollen battery is in the process of failing. Since you can't take the battery out yourself, you need to take it to an Apple store (one of the ones that does the repair in store), and get it replaced. If you wait, it could leak, and the chemicals will ruin everything they touch inside the phone that is made of any sort of metal. Which in turn corrodes that metal. A charged battery could release all it's energy at once, making it look like the 4th of July, only in your pocket. In both cases, you get a phone that stops working and becomes landfill.

So back up everything you consider important, and stop using the phone, until you find out for sure if the battery is damaged or if the screen is just loose.

I think an Apple Store said $75 to replace the battery, that is going to warp your phone and eventually damage more if what the T-mobile guy told my friend is true. (since my friend already bought a new se, I believe him)
Check to see if you have insurance or apple care you, my friend paid $5 to have his 5s battery replace

  • Is it dangerous to use an iphone with water in it? I got some water in my iphone 5s a few days ago and its still not out, i have it in a bag of rice right now. I turned it on to check if the water is out or not and my phone worked perfectly fine, no errors at all aside from there being water in it. Is it okay to use right now or is it too risky?
  • Is it dangerous to unplug iPhone 5 battery while it's on and charging? Is it dangerous to unplug an iPhone 5 battery while it's on and charging? I want to run the iPhone without the battery and I heard that it would not boot up if the battery isn't present. So I was wondering if it was safe to unplug the battery while the phone is still on and plugged in.
  • How dangerous is it when you click on a 'link' on iPhone? Hi, I was messaging a girl on tinder and she sent me a link for a dating site. When I clicked onto the link it brought me to the dating site where it wanted me to sign up. The website just felt really untrustworthy and I feel quite stupid for even clicking on the Link in the first place. Could this compromise my security on my iPhone in any way? Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks for reading.
