Iphone 5s damage! Will it be broken?

Today while using my lifeproof case (which leaked) my phone stopped working, it seems that the charger port has been damaged and expanded. I have just put my phone in a bag of rice, if i do this overnight should the swelling go away?

Swelling?! That is not good. Your phone is most likely ruined…

The phone is ruined and I don't think the warranty covers water damage.

Our limited hardware warranty that comes with the device does not cover liquid damage. If the battery is swelling you really don't to use the phone anymore because it might explode and blow half of your head off… Lol, but seriously, you really should not use it. You would be eligible to purchase one at the Out of Warranty replacement price, and I believe that is $249 USD. That being said, Life proof might have replace the phone for you. I know that if you use an Otter Box and the phone breaks they will replace it so its possible Life Proof does the same thing

Leave it 3 days and hope its not ruined.

  • Will my iPhone still work after water damage? It fell into a bucket of water last night and I can't turn the phone off because the screen is black. I can hear the phone ringing and vibrating, but can't see anything. I put it in a bowl of rice, is this fixable? Will the screen eventually work?
  • When apple replaces a broken iphone, do you get to keep the old broken one? The back camera on my iPhone 4s broke (just stopped working), so I called Apple and I have an appointment set up to replace the old phone with a brand new one. But, I want to know if when they give me the new phone, will they let me keep the old one? The phone still works fine except for the camera. In fact, it's almost perfect. And obviously I want to sell the old one on ebay to make a boat load.
  • My iPhone 4 suffered heavy water damage, will it be okay? I went in the pool with it not realizing it was in my pocket. I was in the pool for about 5-10 minutes before I realized it was in my pocket. It was on when I went in the pool but was off when I got out. I now have it sitting in a bowl of rice and I plan on leaving it in there for a week, changing the rice it's in every 24 hours. Does anyone have any insight on this, like if there's any hope of it being okay or is it done for?
  • Is my iPhone broken (water damage)? About 5-6 minutes ago, I dropped my iPhone in the toilet. I dried it off, and the screen was fuzzy. Then the screen went really dark, to the point where I can barely see it. I tried turning it off, but the touchscreen isn't working Is there anything I can do?
