IPhone 6 dropped in pool-Need data?

My iPhone 6 flew into a pool a few days ago, and wasn't backed up(my fault). There's data on it that I really need, and that s my concern, IIm not worried about the phone. I will get a new one.

I got it out of the water and immediately put it in rice, and only took it out 2 full days later. I tried plugging it in, turning it on, leaving it plugged in, holding home + lock. There's absolutely nothing happening. I opened it up and there was still water on the inside but it dried up within a few seconds.

What are the chances of me getting anything off of this phone? Any suggestions on something I should try?

Take it to the apple store.

Zero. It's done.

It's not just the fact that there's water, it the fact that the MB was still powered while wet. The ONLY way to unpower the MB is to remove the battery.

Take it to an Apple store or a cell phone repair shop that deals with water damage. At this point there's NOTHING else you can do, period, you need someone that knows what their doing to fix this.

Once they get the phone dried out, they MIGHT be able to power it up long enough to make a complete backup. The main problem here is corrosion due to the pool chemicals even AFTER the phone gets dried out.

Think of water inside of an electronic device like ants, for every little ant or drop of water you see, there are many more than you can't see. Water+electronics+power=damage, which may not be recoverable from.

  • My iphone 4s dropped in the pool what should I do? My iphone dropped in the pool 2 nights ago and I immediately put it in rice… It has been in rice for a little over 24 hrs but is still not working, what should I do?
  • My Iphone 4 fell in a pool but not just a normal pool? It fell off my pocket and stayed at the bottom of the pool which was filled with sea water for 10 minutes, is there even 1% chance of it beeing fixed?
  • IPhone 4 was dropped in my pool? I got it out and didn't think to turn it off. I had music playing and it stopped. I dried it off and it's been in a bowl of rice since 5. My back camera has water droplets inside the camera (it looks foggy) and my flash won't shut off. My phone was on 75% when I dropped it. It's been 5 and a half hours. Shouldn't the battery have died already? Will my phone ever work again? And how long should I keep my phone in the rice?
  • I Dropped my iphone 4S in the pool? I dropped my iphone in the pool for about 2 seconds only about a foot down. I had an otter box on it and quickly took of the case and dried it off. It worked fine til about 30mins ago the home button stopped working and I can no longer charge it. I just the phone 3 weeks ago and was wondering how much it would cost for a new one or the warranty would cover it. I have Verizon if that matters. I'm just really sad that my new phone is ruined.
