IPhone back up problems

Okay so i recently backed up my iphone on itunes to my computer. Then i reset my phone and used the back up again. When i did, all my apps were gone except the ones that are already installed by apple. However, the text messages and contacts were still there. So i decided that iwould just install all my apps at a latter time when i had the time to do it. That was about last saturday. Over the course of three days, i have texted and called a couple of people and deleted/ sent a couple emails too. So this morning, i conected my iphone to itunes through the USB cable and it restored the previous back up that i had before. Problem is, all the calls & texts /emails i've received and sent for the past three days are nowhere to be found. Everything is back to the old messages and call log history. So my question is, how do i reverse what i did this morning? I have no problem re-installing apps but that other data carries a whole lot of value to me.

Well I see its a problem with iTunes. I had a similar problem as well with my friends iPod. This may be due to the fact that you has factory reset your phone or because Apple just sucks. My solution would be to switch to a Nokia Lumia.

Manually restore from the backup using itunes. There will be a 'restore from backup' option in itunes.

The thing that strikes me as odd is that the apps did not come back. If this truly was an itunes backup the files may be corrupt. If you were experiencing problems beforehand you may of brought them right back over.
