IPhone battery/water damage?

I have an iPhone 4S the last nine months but only had 3 months warranty but it has been workin fine since I got it but the last week it's been turnin on and off it randomly comes on when it feels like it. I think it might be water damaged or the battery could be overheated because my phone was off and wouldn't turn on and it was vibrating and the battery was roasting hot?! I brought it into a guy who repairs phones and he said it can't be fixed but it's working now the only thing is I'm not sure how long it will last, it never lasts more than an hr, is there anything else I can do?

They say if you take a tupper ware bowl or zip loc bag and fill it with rice and put your phone in it. Leave it under your pillow overnight and Asians will come and fix all your electronics. May be worth a shot?

  • Would replacing the battery on the iphone 5 fix water damage? I want to buy a water damaged iphone 5 from someone. He said it was quickly token out but was completely submerged. He said all he tried was a can of air but that's it. Should I take the risk and replace the battery? Would that work? What else could I try? He's selling it for 200
  • Will my iPhone still work after water damage? It fell into a bucket of water last night and I can't turn the phone off because the screen is black. I can hear the phone ringing and vibrating, but can't see anything. I put it in a bowl of rice, is this fixable? Will the screen eventually work?
  • My iPhone 4 suffered heavy water damage, will it be okay? I went in the pool with it not realizing it was in my pocket. I was in the pool for about 5-10 minutes before I realized it was in my pocket. It was on when I went in the pool but was off when I got out. I now have it sitting in a bowl of rice and I plan on leaving it in there for a week, changing the rice it's in every 24 hours. Does anyone have any insight on this, like if there's any hope of it being okay or is it done for?
  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
