IPhone got a tiny bit wet now what
I was in the bath and my iphone was on the side, and by accident i turned the shower head and water went over my iphone. I dried it super quick - as its happened but only on the top (as my iphone usually lies on the floor and the case stops water leaving down to the ports and all).
However this time i think the dock and the speakers got a little wet. I tried playing music and there was no sound option, but then i banged the phone a bit on a towel as if to get the water out and it started playing music again. But then it stopped and i ran out of the bath (10 mins after the accident) and started thinking of what to do. The phone was still on.
I tried the q-tip method of sticking it into the jack, didn't work, turned it on and off a few times and then suddenly it started working again all fine. However, before it started working the problem was that if people called i could hear but no games would make noise and i couldnt listen to music (but headphones was fine).
So when it started working (1 hour ago) I stuck it back in the bag of rice and didn't turn it off because i was scared verything would stop working if i did. But the whole time everything was happening as soon as i got out of the bath the phone said 'charging is not supported with this accessory'. Anyways so now its in a bag of rice and 10 mins ago i took it out and turned it off. Then just to check i turned it back on and no music is working or anything as before just calls.
So i turned it off its in a bag of rice in my warm dark closet did i do the right thing! How long should i leave it i'm planning on maybe another 6-7 hours? And also after should i turn it on (it only has like 20 percent battery) or blow dry it a little before turning it on or what? Or turn it on as soon as it comes out and just keep restarting it! I'm so worried!
Turn it off if you can and put it in dry rice for at least an hour. It should be fine, mine got wet many times
I did this to my iphone, the speaker only sort of worked and then suddenly after about 3 days it started working again, put it in the airing cupboard or boiler room. That will soak up all the damp!
- Will my waterproof iPhone get water damage if I wet it while it has a tiny crack? I have an iPhone 8 which is waterproof but I have a very TINY crack on the screen, you can't see it unless you look for it. I only noticed it was there because I felt it when scrolling on it. My question is, could I still get my phone wet or will it break because the water will go through the crack? I used to love taking it into the ocean with me and I'd like to take it with me while I go tubing.
- What is the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit in the iPhone 5S? I was wondering what is 64 bit and why does it matter on an iPhone? What makes it different than the iPhone 5 or any other smartphone right now, and should we really care?
- My iPhone 5s got wet but it still working. But the touch screen is a bit slow. Is it safe to use? I dropped my phone in water but pulled it out immediately. I powered it down, dried it off, and let it sit for 30 or so minutes. At first the screen was red but then turned on and everything works. The touch sometimes is unresponsive. Is it safe to use my phone? I'm letting it air dry by a window because rice can cause erosion… Should I use it?
- My iPhone 4s got wet in a storm. The camera now won't work I have tried to reset and restore. I've tried closing the app, restarting my phone. Everything else works. It's just the camera that doesn't work. After my phone got wet I put it in rice for 24 hours (although for most of the time my phone was on!) Can someone please help me? I bought my phone second hand on gumtree so I couldn't get it insured and I'm not apple with help as the phone is not register to my name! In snap chat my front camera works!
