IPhone got wet but it still works. Repair it though?

So today at lunch my coke fell over my iPhone, I quickly picked it up and dry it like any other person would. To my surprise everything work perfectly, well except the speakers, at the beginning it was hearing low with the volume all up, but after some minutes it started to hear normal. Should I send my iPhone to "repair" even though it is still working fine? My iPhone is still under warranty and it haves insurance.

I'd repair it. Problems might show up later. I knew a person with pretty much the same thing. Then the battery started dying fast. Bought a new battery. But it did it too.

I would repair it if I were you. You'll always want to have your iPhone operating to its full potential and since you may have some options, you should explore them.

When you say "under warranty" do you mean AppleCare+ or just the first year warranty you get from Apple? If it's AppleCare+, it will only cost you $49 to replace the iPhone at an Apple Store.

Is there a deductible on your insurance plan? Depending on the price, it may be cheaper for you to go the insurance route. Do you have to send it in to get it repaired or can you swap it out at your cell phone provider store? Sending it in will suck no matter the cost savings.

As long as its fine I wouldn't do anything but keep an eye on it.

  • Need an advice! My iphone got wet but still works fine? I spilled my water bottle on my backpack about 2 hours. I just noticed it when I opened my backpack and I saw my iphone 4s got wet, it wasn't submerged it's just wet. It still works fine, quickly I turned it off and haven't yet checked anything because I was shocked. Now that I got home I put it on a bag of rice. What to do after this? How long should I put this? I'm afraid if I turn it on before the phone completely dries it will get a problem.
  • My iPhone 5s got wet but it still working. But the touch screen is a bit slow. Is it safe to use? I dropped my phone in water but pulled it out immediately. I powered it down, dried it off, and let it sit for 30 or so minutes. At first the screen was red but then turned on and everything works. The touch sometimes is unresponsive. Is it safe to use my phone? I'm letting it air dry by a window because rice can cause erosion… Should I use it?
  • My iphone 4 got wet but is still warm/hot and won't turn on what do i do? My brother dropped it in the toilet and i don't know how long i was in there i don't know how to get my battery out but it is very weird cause it is still warm and kinda hot
