IPhone help. If i back up to my computer, will i lose everything on my iphone?
Ok so last time i plugged in my phone to my computer (dell inspiron) and i imported photos to windows media and then i checked my phone and i had lost everything, contacts, photos, you name it. IT WAS A DISASTER. I have never plugged my iphone back in ever again for fear of losing my precious one. But now i need to sync my iphone (downloaded new music from itunes) and i've chosen the 'back up to cimputer' item before i sync
WILL I LOSE EVERYTHING AGAIN? I have an icloud thing on but i don't know what the hell that is all about?
No, just all of your stuff will just be trancefured into the computer
When you backup your iPhone (or any Apple product) to a computer, it back's up everything, and since there's no other way for the computer to get your documents (music, photos, etc), it will import everything onto the computer, thus clearing everything on your iPhone.
A simple way to just backup is to do this, it will backup everything into a folder, make a copy of that folder then import everything back onto your phone. Then you will have everything on your iPhone and a backup of everything.
But I highly recommend learning how to use iCloud, so you can import it over the cloud.
