Iphone sim card? Can iphone use Wi-Fi without it?
I have a iphone 5 that does not have service. It's my friend's old phone from Verizon, he upgraded to 6 and gave me the out of service 5. With that being said, does it even need the sim card? And can it still use Wi-Fi with no sim?
Yes you can use it without a SIM card. It might keep telling you that there's no SIM installed, but will still work.

I want to be able to use my sim in my old nokia brick phone as well though because i'm attending a heavy metal festival next week and don't want my expensive iphone to get wrecked in the mosh. Just wondering if its at all possible.
