Iphone SMS texting overseas?
I just got an Iphone last week. I have a long distance friend in Japan and they have an Iphone like I do.
She mentioned us texting each other but is worried about getting charged for long distance messages.
Is Iphone to Iphone texting free internationally?
Could she be able to tell I'm texting her from the UK?
If I text them while on Wi-Fi instead of text message… Will I still get charged?
Regards the cost of long distance texting from the UK it depends on your service provider and even your call plan! It's something that you would have to take up with the provider in question. If you text while connected to Wi-Fi or use an app that allows you to send standard texts this way, then again it is down to the carrier who these are billed. There are though lots of chat apps such as (for example only) Facebook Messenger that allow you to chat using your data allowance, and if you keep it to text, they are incredibly frugal!
