IPhone water damage, won't charge?

so my mum dropped her phone down the toilet, she pulled it out straight away and dried it with a towel but it still worked perfectly fine but she did have it in and out of rice for about an hour, her phone now will not charge and just keeps flashing the charging symbol, we have it in rice now anyone have any ideas if it will still work?
The phones battery may have been damaged and can't charge or the charging port is water damaged
- Why won't my iPhone 4 charge after water damage? My middle button wasn't working either but I sat it in a bag of rice overnight and now it's working again, only problem is my phone won't charge. How can I fix that? It wasn't completely submerged a little bit of water just got inside the base piece.

I took my case off and dried it the best i could and shook it to get some of the water out. It was in rice for about 8 hours and I charged it for a little, and the screen won't even turn on, but the flashlight won't turn off.

I'm immersing it in rice right now, but in case that doesn't work can I take it to the Genius bar? The two external water damage indicators are not red and my phone looks normal. Would they be able to tell anyway? Are there any other remedies other than rice I can use?
- Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
