Iphone with no smart phone plan?

If I take a sim card from a non-smart phone and put it in an iphone, can I call people from the Iphone or use the internet(via Wi-Fi) without changing to a smart phone plan?

Should be able to make calls with the sim card, and use Wi-Fi without a sim card even.

No need of sim car to use Wi-Fi for internet. Just "ON" the Eifi connection on phone and use internet. Use can use any sim card to call from iPhone.

Of course, you should be able to call. You can also call and there's no connection between Wi-fi and your SIM card. Both are stand alone things and Wi-Fi provides internet without the need of SIM connectivity.

  • Will I be able to unlock my iPhone with a home phone plan instead of a wireless plan? I don't have a wireless plan with AT&T but I have a home phone plan does that count towards unlocking requirements? And also can I use a mildly cracked screen as a replacement screen on my iPhone?
