Is a smartphone a good gift for an 8 year old?
I'm thinking of getting my soon to be 8 yer old an iphone 9 for her Birthday next Sunday. Would this be a good present?

I personally think that's too young for a smartphone, let alone a high end model. But if she is responsible then I guess it would be one helluva present.
Um… I didn't even get my first FLIP phone till I was 12. And that's literally only because we got it for free and added me to my parent's plan for $10. Kids play and socialize at recess, go to the neighbors and ask if Danny can come out to play. Don't.
- What would happen if someone from the year 2015 shows up in the streets in the year 1940? Talking on their iPhone and getting out of their 2016 brand new car and wearing clothes from this era. You think he/she would get stopped / detained and possibly killed.
- Is a 6 year old old enough to have her own phone? I have a bunch of old iPhones (6,7,8) saved up and I'm thinking of putting her into the family plan. What do you think of a 6 year old having a smartphone?

- How to decide between this year's Google Nexus phone or this year's iPhone? I currently have a Nexus 5 that is running Android 5.1 at the moment. I have never had an iPhone. My upgrade is early next year. Nexus phones and iPhones come with the latest versions of their respective OS's. Google I/O 2015 will clear some details for the Nexus phone(s). WWDC will probably do the same for the next iPhone(s).
