Is iMovie a built-in app for mac?

Hi, so i'm probably getting a mac soon, But i want to know all the built-in apps that come with it.
And also is iMovie a built-in app on mac? I have an iPad 3 and i know it costs $4.99 on iPad's app store, also iPhone's app store.
If not, how much does it cost?
Thanks xx

{one last question: what's the difference between a macbook and a macbookpro?}

"is iMovie a built-in app on mac?"
Yes. It is included with a new Mac. If you buy a second-hand Mac, maybe it is included, maybe not.

By the way, apps you buy on iPhone or iPad can't be used on any Mac… And vice versa.

IMovie is not 'built-in' as such, as it is not integrated into the operating system. It is however, bundled with new Macs, so you will get a copy if you buy a Mac.

Macbooks were phased out in 2011, so the distinction between Macbooks & Macbook Pros is not really relevant any more. The word 'Macbook' by itself is often used to refer to the entire Macbook range of products, which currently includes the Macbook Pro & Macbook Air.

  • Why won't my iPhone open up a iMovie file sent from my Mac? I made an iMovie on my mac and want it on my phone. I tried emailing and texting the iMovie to my phone and it says that 'Mail can't open this attachment'. How can I get it on my phone?

  • MOV to iMovie Converter (MAC)? • Is there an iPhone calculator app with a built in add tax button? On my iPad i have an app called calculator HD -prettycalc that has a button where I can add tax to an any total I compute or put in via one button press (able to set the tax rate in the settings). I find this much easier than multiplying any total by my tax rate and then trying to remember the total to add it back on to.So, does anyone know of a iPhone calculator app that has this?
