It's not in itself 'dangerous'.
You may void the warranty on the phone.
There's always the (slim) possibility of corrupting the firmware to the point it will not turn on or reset - 'Bricking' it.
The apps available may include spyware / malware / viruses etc.
And you have to do it all over again every time Apple release a firmware update.
If the phone is out of warranty (which since 2008 is Two years in the UK/ Europe, though most retailers still deny this), and you don't mind the possibility of it getting messed up, go ahead.
Other than that, I'd not risk it.
No but its the most secure phone out there today, so why make it less secure?

I turned it on to check if the water is out or not and my phone worked perfectly fine, no errors at all aside from there being water in it. Is it okay to use right now or is it too risky?
