Is it possible to remotely wipe a lost iPhone without having it linked to iCloud/Find My iPhone?
Added (1). I know Find My iPhone has a remote 'erase data' capability, but I never fully set up Find My iPhone before I lost my phone. Have any of you been through this? Can Apple wipe it for me? I've since gotten a new phone, but I'd like to wipe the other one if at all possible.
Nope. There would be no way to do so otherwise.
No you can't. Apple only wants you to use their tools, and they don't like apps to mess around with the iOS system. If you had an Android phone, you could do that if you have an antivirus installed.
- What happens when you remotely wipe your iPhone? Just lost my iPhone, got the address for the person who stole it then I did a remote wipe using iCloud. What happens now? Can they turn my iPhone on and use it? Will it be restore to the factory settings?

- My iphone was just stolen, is there a way to remotely get my photos backed up on icloud? My icloud was full so my photos were not backing up. Now my phone is gone and stolen. I was wondering if I clear out my icloud would there be a way to get it to update my photos from my phone so I will still be able to have them? Also, when I go to find my iphone my device does not show up. Is there any other way to find my phone and get it back?
