In the iPhone's integrity-settings you can switch on and off what apps are allowed to use you current location.

It is for the best. It keeps you out of trouble. THey aren't secret. They are on all new iphones. It's called find my iphone.

How about you follow the rules and earn trust and maybe he won't' use it.
