Is it weird that I'm this fascinated with technology? I'm 15?

The fact that you can just tap a piece of medal and hit a button that sends your message instantly to someone who could be in China while you are sitting in your bedroom in the USA. Back in the 16 and 1700's, it would take months and months maybe even a year to get your letter to that person. I think it is amazing that I can be sitting in my room in Virginia while I can text my brother who is standing on the Golden Gate Bridge. Back then, it took months to get a letter over across the country! IMessage fascinates me the most. I can see when my brother, again he is in San Francisco, is typing on a piece of medal! What I mean by that is he is typing a message on his iPhone. I just think it is amazing that I can just see when he is taping a piece of medal. I know I'm repeating myself, but i just want to get my point across. I also think calling is amazing. The fact that you can just talk in to an inanimate object and a person who is halfway across the world can hear you almost instantly.

I feel alone on this. I asked my friend if he thought it was amazing that you could be sitting in a restraint and text someone who is across the country by just a hit of a button. He gave me a funny look and said "No. You sound like an old person."

Nah that's good

Technology is amazing and it all possible because of science. Most people don't think about all the work and literally hundreds of years of scientific discoveries that needed to happen to make something like a smart phone. A kid in Africa with a smart phone, has more information at his fingertips than the president of the US did a couple of decades ago.

Nope. Not at all. Of course people would agree with you and disagree. I disagree, but the only one I like is texting. I LOVE the messages because it helps me express "me" a little more. Calling? No, scary! >_< I can only text or write better when my brain & mind is at work, thinking. I can do it in the real world, but I come off as ALOOF. But, I'm not aloof. I just think too much and always feel nervous / have nothing really interesting to say.

Not weird, many children are.

Most kids your age are fascinated with technology

I've been fascinated by technology my whole life, thats also why its my profession. I think its amazing they actually put man on the moon in 1969 with computers that werent anywhere close to the power we have on desktops or in our hands today, its crazy they accomplished that. Watch the documentary on that, very interesting.

Its crazy they built the stealth fighter in the 1980s (wasn't announced until later though) or the SR-71 even back before that, I'm not sure they could even recreate that today, its still the fastest plane ever built. Watch the old star trek shows sometime and you will see most of that stuff came true, traveling in space, video chatting, hand held talking devices, plasma power… All those things were just fantasy when that show took place.

Not at all. Very normal in fact.

  • Why do people want to get the latest technology? I still have an iPhone 4S, it's working fine except the home button is messed up but I can live with it. Because the phone can still be used to call and do what phones do. Why do people feel the need to buy the latest Phone when they don't need it?
  • Who knows anything about music technology/music making computer software? So I basically made a few different iPhone recordings; Voice, two guitar riffs, piano. And I would love to put them all together, I want to make music! Anyone have any idea of safe, preferably free (super broke) music technology software I can download? To mix, add, mess around with different sounds and tracks?
  • What's the most complicated human technology so far? This is for you thinkers out there. Say you could live forever. And you had the exact plans on how to make a technological object. What object would take the longest to build? Remember, you would have to start from complete scratch. That means finding a rock, to mine other rocks, to make metal tools, to make more metal, to then form into everything else. I think an iPhone would be one of the hardest/ longest things to build. What do you think?
  • What are some good persuasive essay topics about technology? I'm writing a persuasive essay for my college English class and I want to do it about technology, well something in that broad category. I'm really techy and love computers, video games, etc… I was thinking something like "are video games bad for you?" or "is the iPhone really the best smartphone?" or "Which is better: Windows or Mac?" Just looking for some advice.
